Special Scholarship Program for ICU Nurses

The Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care (DACC) and the University of Chicago Medical Center (UCMC) are jointly sponsoring a scholarship program for intensive care nurses. Scholarships are offered for two intensive care nurses at UCMC who intend to complete a master’s degree in an accredited anesthesia program, making them eligible for licensure as certified registered nurse anesthetists. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. A rating of 4 or higher on the most recent performance review
  2. Employment at UCMC for a minimum of 12 months
  3. Acceptance by an accredited anesthesia program for nurses in Chicagoland

Two scholarships are available each year, and those interested should complete the application process as soon as possible. Awardees will be notified by the selection Board no later than January 1.

  3. 2007 Graduates - applications now being accepted

To begin the application process for the Nurse Anesthetist Scholarship Program applicants must:

  1. Complete an application form, (Microsoft PowerPoint® download)
  2. Provide three letters of recommendation
  3. Submit a resume
  4. Schedule an interview with Nada Williamson by email (NWilliamson@dacc.uchicago.edu) or telephone
